Seeley & New Wraps

Last week I photographed cute cute Seeley. She inspired us to look for some new ways to show off your kids. Over the next few weeks we are working on templates for our canvas wrap around prints. The wraps have gotten very popular this past year and we are now expanding into alternative sizes like the 5x30 canvas below which can print vertical or horizontal.

Look for our other canvas options in the coming weeks. We'll post a page on the web site under the page heading of "Prices/Options"

Here's a guy that gets Dogs!

Recently we photographed Dr. John Stites and his staff for the launch of their new vet clinic on Bozeman's east side: 360 pet medical. 360 opens for business April 1st on east Main Street in Bozeman.

I love dogs, we have two of our own, so taking on this assignment was a no-brainer and true pleasure.

It was abundantly clear during the session that John truly understands dogs and other pets. They're going to have a great clinic. He and his staff are animal lovers and that comes through very clearly when you meet them.

Here's hoping great success for you John. Thanks for letting us be one of the ingredients to a successful start.

Really Cool Women You Should Meet:

Really Cool Women

In the It's-About-Time category we are finally going to have a studio opening after moving during our busy season last fall into our new studio location on the east side of Bozeman.

In conjunction with the opening we will present Doug's current photo project: 25 Really Cool Women You Should Meet.

Everybody accumulates friends into their lives to influence themselves and their kids. These are just 25 of the truly Cool Women in our lives. It's our friends and family (it's hard to separate the two) that have kept us in Montana throughout our lives. And it is this these women's influence in our daughter's life that is so darn important to us.

We all choose the people who surround us. This exhibit is a celebration of those choices.

How Can You Not Like Paris

It's worth mentioning again and again. Paris is great!

Going to the Dogs (...and cats)

I was going over files this past month updating our web site and I noticed that I have a lot of images of dogs and their clients. It seems that whenever I photograph a client, the family dog finds its way into the images. We have two dogs and have always had dogs in our family. I have come to realize, "I love to photograph dogs".

On our bookshelf is a photo of "Bette" my golden retriever from 1985. Through all our moves and spring cleanings and household junk purges that photo is a constant in my life. And always will be.

We always encourage our clients to include their pets in the sessions. It really is a must. Especially for kids. The bond betweeen the two can be so strong and life-long. It too is a good idea to book a session just of your pet; to honor their place in your life and future memories.

We have added the image below to a display at Llama Llama Book Store in Bozeman, Montana along with other images. Check out this very friendly locally owned bookstore. It caters to a Montana audience and is a great place to hang out. It is located across from the public library on Main Street and just a few doors down from a coffee shop. Llama Llama will be hosting an author signing the 22nd of March for a Helena author who has written a dog training book, "Training People".

Lasting Memories

We recently received the following email from one of our wedding clients. I remember her grandmother very clearly as a very sweet grandma but also as a sharp-minded woman with a great sense of humor about herself and life around her. Her presence in this world will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Dear Stana & Doug,

Perhaps you remember me, perhaps not. I was the bride from Alaska that got married at the Sacajawea Hotel in Three Forks, September of 2006.

To make this very short and simple, I just wanted to say thank you once again for the beautiful work done on my wedding photos. I recently had the opportunity to look through them again while visiting my grandmother in Montana. I am sad to say that my grandmother finally succumbed to cancer on the 7th of February. I cannot tell you how much the photos meant to her. At the end of her illness she lost the ability to speak, but her eyes told you...she remembered. She remembered it all. I guess in the end all we really have are our memories. And thanks to the both of you, I will always have just those...my memories. Thank you.

With my greatest respects, Kristina Waring
