Kids are Kids
........isn't it great........
We photographed a family get together recently and then spent a half hour or so following the cousins around photographing their fun. You never know what you're going to get but it is always good; from runny noses to pulling insect legs to driving the parents truck. They are always fun when left to be themselves.

Handfull of Puppies
I can't believe this photo worked as well as it did. Two adults+4 little girls+7 puppies+two adult dogs.

Dogs of the Week
This week's dog(s) of the week go to Tibi and Riley who have the sweetness only an older lab can give to its owners. But most importantly, they throw caution to the wind and display the enthusiasm of puppies.

Useful Trick
I've been working with our dog Diamond this month to fetch the morning paper from the driveway. It's finally paying off. She loves her new job and wakes me in the morning to do her work. She is so so happy to rise to a new challenge.
The Big pay off for me is when she heads out into a foot of snow this winter to save me from barefooting it through the cold snow. She deserves a treat. But really, the treat she loves the most is the accomplishment and praise for her effort.
Dogs are always teaching us lessons when we think we are teaching them.

Urban vs Nature
We photograph a lot outside this time of year before the snow flies. Our clients want to be outside for their images. Montana has fantastic landscapes and natural backdrops but "outside" for some clients can mean an urban look. Montana is getting more and more urban. Photographing in non-traditional areas can offer a personal stamp on images and an interesting backdrop.
Whether you are a "nature" or "urban" person, we make sure the backdrop for your images suit your personality and looks good on your walls at home.

Beautiful Weather
The weather is so incredible this time of year that we switched all our Saturday sessions outdoors last weekend. These dogs were so happy to have a chance to play in the water. And so was I.

Thursday's Girls
Yesterday we spent some great time outside in the sunshine with these two beautiful girls. A a big bonus for us to spend one on one time with graduating seniors. Each has a lot to offer and are fascinating people in their own rite.

Heart to Heart
I heard Mavis Staples today recall what her father had told when she was a little girl. It went something like this, "You don't need all those gimmicks. Sing with sincerity and soul. The song will go from your heart to theirs."
I couldn't agree more; it goes to core of how I photograph.
Here's some images from yesterday's kid's session. I've been photographing this little one since her birth. She has always been funny and happy.

Images tell Stories
I love it when a story can be told through still images.

Nicki + Dylan
chapel.....Big Sky Chapel
reception.....Huntley Lodge
cake.....Cakes from Cabin Ridge
flowers.....Langohr's Flowerland
limo.....Classic Limo
Saturday Nicki and Dylan were married immersed in tradition from start to finish. I photographed them in many traditional ways and also some photos that portray a non-traditional magazine style.
The best tradition photographed Saturday was the great joy and happiness of the bride and groom. Nicki and Dylan are truly sweet people who fully deserve all the happiness in the world; and they deserve each other's life-long companionship.
